For me, every project begins with listening. After 44 years in business, I’ve learned that taking the time to engage with people is the foundation for creating a shared goal. As a councillor, that same approach has always guided my work.
Over the last term, I organized regular community meetings in partnership with the St. George Business Association, shared updates through Facebook, and—because I live here—made a point of being present at local events and supporting our businesses. Those everyday conversations have helped me better understand the concerns and priorities of our community.
The past four years have sometimes felt like flying a 747 while still trying to build it. Maclean’s Magazine recognized Brant County as one of the Top Ten Best Communities to Live in across Canada. As we face the challenges of growth and aging infrastructure, it’s important that we preserve what matters most: our heritage, farmland, natural resources, and quality of life.
In science, they say we stand on the shoulders of giants. I feel honoured to walk in the footsteps of the men and women who built this remarkable community. As Brant County continues to grow, I believe we must look through that lens to ensure it remains vibrant for all generations — a place to work, play, grow, and feel welcome.
Building on our strengths, I hope to continue working together to make this community an even better place.
Taking the time to listen and engage the community has always been one of my greatest priorities to create a common goal.

This year, we are both retiring and reflecting on an incredible journey. Our clocks have found homes around the world, and we feel truly fortunate to have had such a wonderful career. We sincerely thank all of our customers and friends for their support over the years.

Ten years ago, Susan and I built a new home just outside St. George. I've always enjoyed building and creating things, and our front porch has become one of our favorite places to relax, watch the world go by, and enjoy a good book or newspaper. Spending time playing a few tunes on the guitar is another pastime I enjoy.

Along with tending our vegetable garden, I have planted several fruit trees and enjoy both barbecuing and cooking. When I'm not at home, you can often find me cycling the many trails throughout the Brant area and enjoying the outdoors.

Board of Directors

In my first term on Council, I worked with the St. George and area business community to help launch the St. George Business Association. For the past eight years, they’ve continued to promote and advocate for St. George and the surrounding area.
Along with the Christmas Tree lighting and local outreach meetings, one of their biggest events has become the annual St. George Business Association Car

The 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Legion was celebrated on Saturday, August 29, at St. George Legion Branch 605. A commemorative mural, created by Canadian artist Tim Nijenhuis, was unveiled and dedicated to all those who have served our country. I was honoured to be invited, alongside other local dignitaries, to take part in the celebrations. I am also proud that the County was able t

Communication is one of the most important parts of my role as Councillor for Ward 1. It starts by listening.

**These photos were taken on July 1st at Brant County Fire Station #7. Our volunteer firefighters consistently go above and beyond for the community, and one of my priorities this term is ensuring they have the training and tools they need when the call comes in.**
When most people are running away from a fire, they are the ones running toward it — often the first to arrive at an accident or em
